Gold's Gym
[[MORE]] When Gold’s Gym opened near our dorm a few months ago, I initially didn’t want to enroll. I already have free access in our dorm gym so I didn’t really find the need to spend so much in another gym, until I was introduced to yoga that is. Of course, in our dorm gym, we don’t have group exercise classes. It’s just a treadmill, a cross trainer, a bike and a...

I tried fitting my old clothes and some of them don’t fit well anymore. My shorts are tighter because of my quads. My cardigans are tighter as well because of my biceps/triceps.  I don’t know how I feel about this. I know I got fitter over the summer. I feel very much lighter and healthier. I guess I just didn’t think my weight training would work out this well. Anyone got the...

WEAK
One week away from the gym really took a toll on my body. My knees were shaking while I was doing squats. I feel so fucking weak! And it might take me another week to exercise again. I’m torn between hitting the gym or making the most out of my summer T__T On the upside, I didn’t gain any weight from my cheat week! :D beer, soda, milk tea, etc. thank you weight training!! ...

SICK
It was a good that I decided on pushing through with my workout today. It felt awesome. My nose wasn’t runny at all. My throat was still itchy but I felt fine. Yaay! Good thing I read all those online articles saying that I should be just fine exercising if   the sickness is found from the neck up. Made me guilty as hell so I hit the gym instead of bumming around the house for another day. ...

Do you exercise even when you're sick?
My nose is runny and my throat is itchy. I’m certainly not in the mood to hit the gym tomorrow. I already skipped on my workout today and skipping another workout would just make me feel guilty :| I hate hate hate this. I wish I was just magically better tomorrow.

Healthy Living Survey
Healthy Living Survey What did you eat for breakfast? a bowl of sugar, a glass of milk and a piece of banana (if ever there’s banana around). and a cup of coffee when I need a little boost in the morning. How much water do you drink each day? I actually don’t know D:  What is your current favorite workout? interval training is <3 less time on the machine, but more sweat. I can...

second day of vacation binge
COKE!! Omg. I can’t believe I succumbed to my thirst for Coke :(( I haven’t been very strict with my diet but I’ve really been trying to stick to my water, coffee, tea, milk and fruit shakes/juices as liquid source. It was really hot and I just couldn’t take it. Coke has always tasted good on hot days.  *sigh* Cannot wait to get back on the gym on Tuesday! Ack T__T

the little changes pt. 3
BALANCE I never really noticed how well or bad I was at balancing until one of my classmates in yoga pointed it out to me. Even though I wasn’t flexible (which was understandable since  hello, first day of yoga class), she was impressed by how well I could balance certain standing poses. Something that I only noticed when I started observing other first-timers and newbies like me. ...

overexercising?
My sister thinks I’m overexercising. And that comes from someone who’s more health-conscious than I am donteatthat thathasagazillioncalories I exercise 4 times a week, 3 hours a day, cardio and weights. I do yoga twice a week. I’m not sure if I should be worried but I do know I should lighten up on the load since I’m going to be starting school again in a month. My current...

people who annoy me in the gym
I can stand a lot of things. I can stand hoarders who use the elliptical for an hour on peak hours. I can stand unhygienic people who seem to never notice their own body odor. But there are certain things that people do in the gym that makes me want to kick their balls or pull out their hair (depending on the gender of course). [[MORE]] 1. the little changes pt. 2
FLEXIBILITY I am not flexible. I used to be when I was a kid but even then I couldn’t do a straight split. I guess it would come as a shock to most of my friends when I wanted to try out yoga. That decision came from a place of pure and utter boredom. Nothing else. There was no budding curiosity whatsoever. I was just bored from doing the usual routine in the gym. [[MORE]] It’s been...

my hate/love relationship with alcohol
I can eliminate my rice intake and limit my sweets but alcohol I cannot resist. And my choice of alcohol? Red Horse beer. It’s my baby, my love, my everything. losergirlwithnoboyfriendalert Unfortunately, no matter what I do, I cannot outexercise my binge drinking sprees. Believe me, I’ve tried. I’d rather not base my progress solely on my weight. Weight can be deceiving sometimes especially if you’re only days away from your period. PMS blues
It absolutely absolutely sucks being a girl when it’s almost that time of the month again. I mean, it’s so unfair. Girls get (a little bit) fat because of our unfertilized eggs, and when we decide to get ‘em fertilized, we also get (a lot) fat. THE WORLD IS SO CRUEL. CRUEL. CRUEL. CRUEL.  [[MORE]] I feel so bloated right now and so down whenever I weigh myself. I’m...

better to wake up sore than sorry.
It’s day 16 already and I practically dragged myself in the gym today :( I’m sad because I’m so sore, and tired, and ummotivated. Ugh. I want to be motivated but I’m not. Any tips? Good thing tomorrow’s my rest day. Because I don’t think I can drag my ass to the gym and workout for another 3 hours. Besides, my body needs rest, especially my hamstrings and my...

save or splurge?
Sports apparel don’t come cheap. And like any girl, I want to look my best even if I’m sweating like a pig. I’ve owned a variety of sports apparel brands throughout the years. tendonitis: second would-be minor injury
Tendonitis, literally the swelling of tendons, is an injury I’ve self-diagnosed myself with. Honestly, I’m a bit scared to visit the doctor. It’s not that painful, I keep on saying to myself. I don’t think it’s that serious. I’m giving myself a few weeks (maybe months, I hope not) until it subsides. I won’t be working out that particular tendon for a while...

you are what you eat
I absolutely hate diet fads, especially the one that force you to eliminate protein and carbs and eat only fruits and vegetables and prevent you from exercising vigorously. what the hell. No one, and I mean no one can live forever in that diet. The key to designing a diet is that it should be realistic.  [[MORE]] Crash diets are never a good idea either. Like exercising, I believe diets should...
